We use computer in our day to day life, to help us in accomplishing various tasks quicker and with ease. Computer also serves as a one of the efficient sources for storing digital data, which may be crucial for us. There may be data stored in your system, which you do not want to be accessed by other individuals. Under such condition the firs thing that may come to your mind is ‘hidden files and folder’ option, obviously. However, this is not a very effective idea-, as anyone with sufficient computer knowledge can change the settings and access the folders and files. There is another technique in which you can keep your data out of other’s reach, by creating invisible folders. This article is focused on ways in which you can create invisible files and folders and hide them.

To create an invisibles folder, first of all you need to create a new folder and place all the required data within that directory. Make sure that you remember the root folder of this new folder. Once you have created this fresh directory, you need to rename it, now here is the key of invisible names. You can set the name of your folder as ALT+0160 (you need to press ALT key and simultaneously 0160, do not put + sign in the name) and press enter; you will see that the name that you set for the folder is actually invisible. Similarly you can also rename the folder as F2+ALT+255. Once you have assigned an invisible name for your folder you can now set the folder icon as invisible. To do this you need to click on the folder and select ‘Properties’. After entering the ‘Properties’ menu you need to select ‘Customize’ tab and then click on ‘Change Icon’ button. You will see that there are various icon options; if you scroll sideways you will also find some space, try to click on it. If this space get highlighted that means you are on the correct track, you have discovered the Invisible icon. Once the icon is highlighted you can now click on ok to execute the changes. In this way you can create an invisible folder and then you can also set it as hidden folder.
