RAM or Random Access Memory is a device which determines the speed of your computer system. Depending upon the motherboard of your computer you must decide what type of RAM does your computer supports. If you are buying a new computer system make sure that you purchase the latest one which supports DDR RAM. There are two types of RAM DDR RAM and SDRAM. SD RAM is becoming obsolete and may be, through the course of time, you may not get these RAMs in future.DDR RAM are the latest technology Random Access Memory and are easily available in the market.
There are two sun categories in DDR type of RAM. The first one is the conventional DDR RAM and second is the DDR2 RAM. DDR2 RAM is the advanced version of DDR RAM. However, before you buy any RAM for your system, make sure that the device is compatible with the mother board. Always ask the vender for any suggestion and try to replace if the RAM does not match with your computer system. While selecting a RAM it is also important to consider its speed which is determined by the memory space of the RAM. Speed is one of the most impotent factors to have a competent computer system. The more is the memory space of your RAM the faster it will perform. For any latest computer system it is suggested to buy at least a 1 GB RAM. If you decide to install Windows XP operating system then you can go for 1024 MB or 2048 MB RAM. For Windows Vista it is recommended to implant a 2048 MB to 4096 MB RAM. If you are using any other operating system a 1 GB Ram is suggested.
